Our Founder
Hi, I’m Carly Walker — mom, yogi, wellness seeker, and the founder of The Child’s Pose Method.
While I’m a two-time Ironman finisher with 25 marathons under my belt, nothing makes me feel as grounded and balanced as yoga. What began as an occasional practice over 20 years ago has become an essential part of my life — a constant source of strength, clarity, and connection that keeps me healthy in both body and mind.
After becoming a mom to my two kids, Grant and Harper, I was inspired to combine my passion for yoga with my love for working with children. I completed my kids yoga certifications with Karma Kids Yoga in New York City and Deep Play with Missy Brown, and later earned my 200-hour adult yoga certification with Kaia Yoga in Westport, CT.
For six incredible years, I owned and operated Child’s Pose, a kids yoga studio in Westport, Connecticut, where hundreds of children discovered the joy of mindful movement and playful learning. After relocating to New York City, I transformed that experience into The Child’s Pose Method — a certification program that teaches others exactly how to lead engaging, heart-centered kids yoga classes.
With the support of my biggest cheerleader, my husband Peter, I’m thrilled to share this practice with a wider community of teachers, parents, and educators. My goal is simple: to help kids (and the grown-ups guiding them) discover the power of movement, breath, and mindfulness — and to always leave class with a bigger smile than they started with.
Namaste,
